Before entering the fashion industry, Sophia Domenica believed success belonged only to highly visible leaders like creative directors and celebrities. However, firsthand experience revealed that fashion is built on many roles—often behind the scenes—that are just as essential yet rarely recognized. While creative directors receive most public praise, their work depends on numerous overlooked contributors who deserve equal celebration.
To shift this narrative, the second issue of DOMENICA Magazine highlights three women working behind the scenes in fashion, showcasing their stories and vital contributions. With most top industry roles still held by men, the magazine emphasizes women’s impact and the need for broader acknowledgment. The issue was created in collaboration with fellow students in New York City, underscoring that success in fashion is always a collective effort, never the work of just one person.
